Pet Skin Health

Just like your own skin, your pet’s skin is an organ with a very important job. It prevents dirt, bacteria, fungi, mites and chemicals from invading your pet’s body. This is why it should be protected and maintained.

What Does Skin Do?

There are three layers that make up skin. The top layer is the Epidermis. It is made up of cells that die and are continuously replaced. Dandruff is evident when the cells die too fast. Shedding can occur from genetics, temperature, or the amount of nutrition the pet receives for growth. Sebum is produced from oil glands found on hair follicles.
